Corbo's Corner Deli, located at 1380 East Putnam Ave., in Old Greenwich closed its doors for good on Thursday, Dec. 24, 14 years after it opened to serve locals simple, popular food.

"After 14 years we are sad to say goodbye to our Old Greenwich location," the owners said on Facebook.

The owner, John Bosco, plans to keep his two other locations, one on the west end of Greenwich on West Putnam Avenue, and the other on Washington Boulevard in Stamford, open.

"Operating three locations throughout this pandemic had a huge impact on us and it just didn’t make sense anymore to try to keep all three going," Bosco said on Facebook.

But local diehards will have a chance to keep eating at their favorite spot when it is taken over by one of the deli's employees' who plans to call the new spot, The Old Greenwich Deli. The new deli will probably open within the next two to three weeks.

Bosco said: "How lucky are we to have had something that makes saying goodbye so hard."
